Best part about fall? Visiting local farms for apple picking, fresh apple cider, and apple cider donuts! Take home the cozy memories with this Spiced Apple Cider Slushie that you can make in your own kitchen with only a blender!
Reserve 1-2oz of apple cider. Freeze the rest of the apple cider in ice cube trays for 4-5 hours until solid. If necessary, do this in batches and transfer frozen apple cider ice cubes to a freezer bag.
Add the apple cider ice cubes, ice cubes, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves to a blender along with the reserved liquid apple cider. Blend on the frozen / ice setting on the blender until it forms a thick slushie consistency. Add ice cold water as needed to keep running the blender until all large cubes are pulverized.
Spoon the slushie into cups. Garnish with a rosemary stem and thinly sliced apples. Serve immediately.
Notes
Ice cream maker method: Prep the ice cream maker per factory instructions (i.e. freeze tub before use). Churn the apple cider, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves for 10-12 minutes until it reaches the frozen slushie consistency. Serve immediately.
Apple cider bourbon slushie: Add 3oz of bourbon and 1oz of ginger beer to the blender with the apple cider ice cubes, spices, and lemon juice. Omit the ginger powder.
Apple cider fireball slushie: Add 4oz of fireball cinnamon whisky to the blender and omit the cinnamon but add the rest of the spices and ingredients.
