Beat the hot summer days with a cool, refreshing glass of homemade Mango Iced Tea. Sweet, ripened mangoes are pureed and combined with a homemade simple syrup and then shaken with freshly brewed tea over ice.
First, you'll need to make a mango puree
Remove the pulp from about three fully ripe mangoes
Transfer the mangoes to a blender and puree them until smooth
There shouldn't be any chunks of mango when it's done
Pass the mango through a sieve to remove any fibers
Make the simple syrup with 64 oz water, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon lemon and pour in the mango puree. Whisk until smooth
And now you have fresh mango juice!
Next up, brew black or green tea
Be sure not to over steep and allow the tea to fully cool
Pour the mango juice over ice with lime slices and mint leaves
And top with black tea. Give it a good stir or shake in a cocktail shaker
